A small but established charity, EEAOP sells all of the more than 250 different varieties of orchard fruits that come from the seven counties of the east of England, in order to secure the future of these unique cultivars. With varieties of apple, pear, plum and cherry from Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Lincolnshire, Norfolk and Suffolk to choose from, we offer the largest range of ready-to-plant local varieties – and they are all field-grown in Norfolk to the highest Defra and Plant Healthy standards of plant health. Our trees are grown on half-standard rootstocks, ideal for gardens, community projects, allotments and schools. They produce a tree from 3-4.6m tall, according to species. These produce fruit in 2/3 years and can be managed from the ground throughout their lives. They are suitable for formal training as espaliers, cordons and fans – please tell us if you wish to do this.
All our fruit trees cost £18.50 each, and are VAT zero rated
Our bare-root fruit trees are only supplied when dormant, from mid-December to mid-March.

Orders can be collected by appointment only (11am-4pm) between mid-December and mid-March from our office at West Raynham Business Park, near Fakenham, Norfolk. Please notify us at least 3 working day before collecting.
Orders are dispatched from January to mid-March. Small orders are sent by courier, while we deliver large orders using our own van within our region. Orders are dispatched roughly in order of receipt, but this may not apply to large orders. We will let you know when to expect delivery beforehand. We cannot deliver orders before Christmas.
For orders received during the winter planting season, allow a minimum of two weeks for delivery.

Rootstocks control the final size of the tree and can offer some pest and disease protection. We supply trees on half-standard rootstocks, with an eventual height of 2.7m – 4.6m (9ft – 15ft) and a spread of about 3m (10ft), if grown as free-standing trees. We recommend allowing around 4.5m-5m (15ft – 16ft) between trees. These rootstocks are also ideal for restricted, formally trained trees worked as espaliers, fans or cordons.

Trees on half-standard rootstocks will generally fruit within 3 years of planting
To produce a fruit crop, most varieties need another variety of the same species (e.g.two apples) for cross-pollination. The flowering period (A-F) of each variety is given so that you can select trees that will pollinate each other. Trees will be pollinated by another tree in the same or adjacent pollination group. A few varieties will produce fruits without help from another tree, being self-fertile, or partially self-fertile (SF/PSF).
Some apple varieties are triploid (T), so need two different varieties to set fruit, with the same or adjacent flowering periods.
Some gages are incompatible (I) with each other, meaning they will not cross-pollinate each other although they have the same flowering period. For example, the Suffolk Green Gage is incompatible with Cambridge Gage and Willingham Gage, but it is compatible with the other plums and gages in our catalogue. This feature is mentioned where it applies.
Our old varieties of cherry are all self-sterile, so will not cross-pollinate each other. They can be pollinated by newer varieties such as Summer Sun, Stella or Sunburst, or by wild cherry growing nearby
