Captain Palmer

Arose as a chance seedling at Gissing, near Diss, before 1900 and grown locally on a small scale in the early to mid C20th. Re-introduced in 2000 by Ranworth trees nursery, Norwich. Medium-sized. Smooth, yellowish-green skin with an occasional dull orange flush. Sharp, crisp flesh which mellows with storage. Has good scab resistance.
