Aldenham Blenheim

A dual-use apple. A more highly coloured version of Blenheim Orange, discovered at Aldenham House before 1929 by Head gardener Edwin Beckett. Similar in all other respects to Blenheim Orange. Use as a cooker when first picked then as an eater having been stored. It is a triploid variety so requires two other apple varieties of the same or adjacent pollination group nearby for successful pollination. It is resistant to mildew.
