Excelsior
Culinary apple. Raised by Seabrook & Sons of Boreham in 1921. A large apple with some russet, almost completely flushed dark red with some red stripes. Cooks to a slightly acidic soft puree. It is a triploid variety so requires two other apple varieties with the same or adjacent pollination group nearby for successful pollination.
