Laxton’s Cropper

Culinary plum. Raised by Laxton Bros. nursery at Bedford in 1906 and introduced in 1931.  A Victoria x Aylesbury Prune cross. Medium, blue-black in colour with a chalky bloom. It is self-fertile so will set fruit without the need for another plum tree to pollinate it.
