Dessert apple
Raised by Laxton Bros. of Bedford in 1934. Parentage unknown. A large slightly flattened yellow skinned apple almost completely covered with a dark carmine flush and stripes. Skin has a chalky ‘bloom’. Flesh is crisp and quite astringent.
