Striped Beefing

Culinary apple. Named by and found growing in the gardens of Mr. Crowe of Lakenham, near Norwich in 1794, by the Catton nurseryman George Lindley. Often a very large apple, mid-green in colour with bold red stripes and a red flush. A long-keeper which also keeps shape well when cooked. Needs little sugar. It is a triploid variety so requires two other apple varieties with the same or adjacent pollination group nearby for successful pollination.
