Sturmer Pippin

Dessert apple. Arose in the garden of Mr. Dillistone at Rectory House, Sturmer around 1800. Probably a Nonpareil or Ribston Pippin cross. First sold in 1831. A medium sized ribbed and occasionally oblong apple with a dull green skin and brownish orange flush. A very long keeping variety, crisp and sharp in January becoming less sharp with storage
