Bittern

Culinary plum. Raised at Rivers’ Nursery in Sawbridgeworth in 1872 and introduced in 1885/86. Of unknown parentage. Medium, oval, blue black with a chalky bloom. It is self-fertile so will set fruit without the need for another plum tree to pollinate it.
